Our recent LLSY Learning Trip to Singapore concluded successfully, offering students hands-on STEAM experiences and practical opportunities to improve their English communication skills.
Students explored various STEM activities, beginning with a visit to the ArtScience Museum, where they engaged with interactive digital exhibitions like Future World that integrate science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
At Nanyang Polytechnic, students participated in an exciting workshop where they programmed micro:bit-based cars called Mcqueen. Through writing code, they learned how to make the cars navigate obstacles and follow lines, deepening their understanding of coding, robotics, and problem-solving.
The Singapore Science Centre provided a rich environment with over 1,000 interactive exhibits. Students took part in a hands-on DNA workshop, which sparked their curiosity in biology and scientific experimentation.
In addition to STEM learning, students practiced English communication by interviewing tourists at the iconic Merlion Park, helping them build confidence and real-world language skills.
Environmental education was also emphasized through visits to the Marina Barrage and the River Safari, where students learned about sustainability and biodiversity. The Night Safari offered a unique opportunity to observe nocturnal wildlife, enriching their ecological awareness.
The trip culminated at Gardens by the Bay and Jewel Changi Airport, where students admired beautiful plant collections and the world's tallest indoor waterfall, fostering appreciation for nature and innovative design.
This trip successfully blended STEAM education with practical English practice, inspiring our students to broaden their horizons and develop a lifelong love of learning.
